The beginning of the present main production of the company was set up in the 1999, when was commence a program for research, designing, marketing for elaboration of eco briquettes and machines for their production. As a result of these actions “KADI” Ltd. invested in the make of machines for ecologically clean eco briquettes and their production commenced.
The main motives for re-orientation of the activity to production of ecologically clean wood briquettes are:
1) The energy problem:
The restricted natural resources of energy and their constant exhaustion impose the demand of alternative energy sources and the most complete possible utilization of all types of raw materials.
Despite that at present the eco- briquettes as alternative source of energy do not have influence over the general energy balance they are a modern direction of the energy policy and even without economic preferences they are already competitors to the classical sources. The national energy strategy envisages conduct of result oriented preferential policy. The sale of electrical energy produced from renewable alternative sources is stimulated by the Law on the power engineering, the Law on the energy effectiveness and other normative acts.
With the introduction of the market principles in the energy sector and the liberalization of the energy prices, the investors’ interest toward some alternative energy sources will grow. In this aspect “Kadi” Ltd. has significant competitive advantage since it is one of the first company’s producers of eco-briquettes as alternative source of energy.
2) The growing prices of the fuels and energy carriers:
This process is observed worldwide and is determined by the restriction of the natural fuel – the energy resources and their non-renewable character.
3) Environmental
The environmental awareness of the product is manifested in two aspects:
• Extremely low quantity of harmful emissions from smoke, soot and sulphur upon the incineration of the eco-briquettes. This characteristic of the product contains large potential for generation of additional cash flows for the company on the basis of the mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, also as the international and domestic trade with emissions (emission quotas or certificates), the projects “joint implementation”, green investment schemes, etc;
• The raw materials used as base for production of eco-briquettes are 100% waste from the wood processing and wood working enterprises and the agriculture, which are not used by other productions and without doubt cause damage to the environment. Years on end, this type of waste created problems to the fire brigades and ecological services, since in most cases they are deposited in the rivers or are burned, without taking in consideration the damages caused to the soils, waters and the air.
Kadi Ltd. company is the only one licensed with decision No 00-ДО- 209-00 /02.05.2006 by the Ministry of Environment and Waters in accordance with which many wood processing companies give all the waste products to our company and this activity is controlled by the regional inspections of environment and waters. We work with over 200 companies on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria. |
